Private Mode
Public trading requests under an alias, private two-person conversations, and a separate review before trading on Solana or Robinhood Chain.
Make your intent visible
Open Private Mode, choose Robinhood Chain or Solana, and browse requests without connecting a wallet. To post or respond, connect a wallet and sign a short, expiring sign-in message. This proves wallet control; it does not move funds or approve a token transfer. Choose an alias instead of displaying your wallet address. Wallet ownership does not verify a person's identity or reputation.
Your Solana and Robinhood identities are separate. Switching networks keeps you in Private Mode, but participation requires a sign-in for the selected network. Private Mode does not bridge assets. It uses the existing trade reviews and escrow contracts; there is no Private Mode contract upgrade.
Post a buy or sell request
Choose a direction, exact token address, symbol, amount, total principal limit, payment asset and expiry. Robinhood requests use ETH; Solana requests use SOL or USDC. The price limit is for the entire quantity, before trading fees, network costs and token taxes. Requests can expire within seven days.
Your alias, token, terms and note are public. Keep wallet addresses, social handles and identifying details out of your alias and note. A token symbol is self-entered: use the exact token address to identify the asset. A request is not a funded offer and does not prove balances, token compatibility or liquidity. You can pause or close it. Closing or expiring a request does not cancel an already funded onchain offer.
Choose who enters your room
An interested trader sends an introduction. Only the request owner and that trader see the introduction. The owner can accept it to open a two-person room or decline it. Other visitors cannot read the room by guessing its link. Messages and proposals are stored so the same wallet can return on another device.
A counteroffer creates a new version and clears previous acceptance. Both participants must accept the latest amount, total principal and expiry. An accepted proposal records mutual terms; it is not a wallet signature, completed trade, deposit or guaranteed execution. You can close the room, block a participant or report a request or conversation.
Review the actual trade separately
After both people accept the latest terms, use the room's trade checklist. One participant creates a funded offer in an existing supported Sidelot market and shares its Copy offer link in the room. Paste that link into the handoff to open Sidelot's existing live review.
Check the token address, maker, buy or sell direction, amount, payment asset, full price, expiry, fees and transfer taxes against your agreement. Enter the agreed quantity in the trade review. The destination rechecks the offer's availability, and your wallet approval is still required. A link does not itself prove that an offer matches your conversation.
Funded offers are public and are not reserved for the person in your room. Another wallet may fill them first. The existing contracts do not restrict a fill to your chosen counterparty. Private Mode does not claim otherwise and never automatically marks an agreement as settled.
What stays private, and what does not
The public board shows an alias and a random profile ID rather than your wallet address. The same alias and ID can connect your requests to each other. Sidelot stores the wallet-to-profile mapping to authenticate you, and it is not included in public board or room profile responses. Your own session can show your own connected wallet.
Room access is restricted to its participants. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Sidelot's service operators and infrastructure can process stored records, and authorized staff can review reported conversations. Participants can copy or screenshot a conversation. Avoid sending secrets or information you would not want the other participant to retain.
Funding and settlement happen on public blockchains. Wallets can be visible in funded offers, transaction receipts and existing public trade history. A room's offer link, timing and terms may allow people to connect activity. Private Mode is privacy for discovery and conversation, not anonymous blockchain settlement. Read the Privacy Policy.
Beta limits and support
The beta limits active requests, rooms, messages and repeated actions to reduce spam. Sign-in sessions last up to 12 hours. Requests disappear from the public board after expiry; room history remains available to its participants. Closing a room does not delete its history.
Block a participant to stop new messages and proposals between you. Reports go to Sidelot for review; reporting does not undo transactions or guarantee recovery. For access or deletion requests, use Support. Do not share a seed phrase, private key or wallet password. Public API matching remains documented separately in Agent Deal Rooms; this release does not grant autonomous agents authority to send private messages or sign trades.
