KNOW YOUR SHARE

Simple fees. Shared upside.

The buyer pays a 0.50% trading fee on completed trades. The market’s chosen fee wallet and Sidelot share that fee.

Market registration has no Sidelot listing fee. On Robinhood Chain, registering a market, granting token approval, depositing, trading and cancelling an order require transactions and ETH for gas. The separate Solana launch flow uses a signed message; its trading and escrow operations have network costs.

Robinhood Chain: trading fees and gas

The buyer trading fee is 0.50% in the exchange design, with half routed to the market recipient and half to Sidelot. ETH gas is separate. Registration, token approvals, funding, settlement and cancellation can each require a transaction; reverted transactions can still spend gas. Only completed trades generate trading fees.

For a 1 ETH trade, the nominal buyer payment is 1.005 ETH before gas: 1 ETH to the seller, 0.0025 ETH to the market recipient and 0.0025 ETH to Sidelot. Integer rounding applies. This is an example, not an active offer. Contract availability is published separately.

The initial Robinhood exchange targets standard ERC-20 transfers. Transfer-tax and rebasing tokens are unsupported; Solana Token-2022 compatibility does not apply to EVM tokens.

Solana beta fee reference

The examples below describe Solana’s SOL/USDC settlement and token-account costs.

A 100 USDC example

Trade value: 100.00 USDC Market-recipient fee: 0.25 USDC Sidelot fee: 0.25 USDC Buyer pays: 100.50 USDC, plus applicable network costs if they are the taker. Seller receives: 100.00 USDC.

This example assumes distinct buyer, seller and fee-recipient wallets. If you also own a fee-recipient wallet, that payment to yourself changes your net cost.

Token transfer fees are separate

Some supported Token-2022 mints set their own transfer fee, sometimes called a token tax. This is set by the token issuer, not charged by Sidelot. Offer quantities and unit prices use the gross tokens the seller sends; the buyer receives that quantity minus the token fee.

For example, a gross transfer of 1,000 tokens at a 1% token fee gives the buyer 990 tokens and withholds 10 tokens, assuming the maximum-fee cap does not bind. If the agreed price is 0.10 USDC per gross token, the seller still receives 100 USDC and the buyer pays 100.50 USDC including Sidelot’s separate 0.50% trading fee. Network costs remain separate.

The token fee rounds up to a whole token base unit, then applies the mint’s maximum-fee cap, on each transfer. Splitting a fill can change the total withheld amount because rounding and caps apply separately.

Current and scheduled fees are previews. The final trade review shows gross tokens sent, exact token fee and net tokens received from the prepared transaction. Both traders approve that expected fee. If the fee applicable at execution differs, the exchange fails atomically; network fees may still be charged. A fee authority may schedule changes, and a listing preview does not lock a future fee. Token-2022 funded escrow remains unsupported.

When you earn

Fees move as part of the completed settlement transaction. There is no claim step for those routed trading fees. Posting offers or creating a market does not itself produce earnings. Volume, available counterparties and successful settlement determine whether fees are earned.

Network fees and account rent

For a wallet-held fill, the taker pays the Solana transaction fee and any required new token-account rent. The taker may be the buyer or seller. Sidelot estimates these costs before signing. They are separate from the 0.50% trading fee, and network fees may be charged on failed transactions.

Funded escrow, when activated, also requires deposit, fill or cancellation transactions and account rent. Some terminal order-account rent remains allocated by the program. Do not describe escrow rent as fully refundable.

Smallest-unit rounding

Amounts settle in whole lamports or token base units. Trade quote amounts and the total trading fee round up when necessary. The market’s fee share is half of that fee rounded down; any indivisible remainder goes to Sidelot. For very small trades, the effective percentage can differ slightly from the nominal 0.50%.

Funded orders use cumulative accounting so partial fills reconcile with the original deposit. Above/below-market comparisons exclude these fees and network costs.
